Are you a young person who wants to live for 2 months in Latvian countryside, work with artists, local community, create your own performance, play or whatever is close to your artistic heart?
In this project you can learn:
-ability to work with the local community
-practical skills on event production
-increased skills in communication (especially with artists or cultural sector)
-increased belief in self and your own ability to create
-ability and knowledge to share with others more about volunteering

This is a volunteering program funded by the ESC programme.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
Get to know all provided information in the info letter before you submit your application form.
Apply only when you know you want to participate and you have the dates of the program available.
Travel reimbursement is only sent to those who fully participate in all phases, including the follow-up and dissemination.

COST AND FEES
This project is funded by ESC programme: accommodation, food, materials, the programme and the travel costs up to the maximum allowed amount are fully covered.
Pocket Money
You will receive 4 €/day for your personal expenses.
Food
You will receive 5 €/day for your food expenses.
In total you will receive 531 € for two month period.
Travel Costs
Travel costs from and to Susēja will be reimbursed and calculated using the official distance calculator from
It’s either 275 or 360 € both ways depending how far is your residence country.
Smokinya Foundation operates thanks to hundreds of volunteering hours per month and donations.
We ask a contribution of 20 EUR /40 leva/ from all confirmed applicants.
Your donation covers some of our administrative and organisational expenses and supports Smokinya Foundation’s dream to establish youth-run international volunteering and training centre. In case the suggested donation amount is excessive for you, fill in the application form and contact us.
