1. Multilingual competence:
At the start of the project, I was lost. My level of English was bad, and it was difficult for
people to understand what I meant. For me, it was complicated to communicate well and
have a good connection with some people I wanted to meet.
But then, it became easier to remember and improve my English. I took my time and finished
what I said I would do. I also noticed that I started to think in English. I heard that this is
good news because it means that my English is getting better.
I tried to learn one or two new words, so I asked my buddies and family to help me and
correct my English. For me, it was good and useful.
2. Personal, social and learning to learn competence
For me, the best part was everything I learned. The people there were really nice, and
learning things about my buddies was great. I mean, everybody gave you something.
Seeing how people are, their perspectives, and what they want in their lives was amazing.
Seeing their weaknesses and strengths helped me understand how people are and how to have
good connections with them.
I had great conversations where it felt like time stopped. We could ask questions, share ideas,
and also give each other suggestions.
3. Entrepreneurship competence
At the start of the project, I wanted to stay in the same place, in that village. But while I was
finishing the project, I realized that this was not the life I wanted. It is impossible to have the
life I want if I hide myself.
So, I started to think about what I want in my life, both in my studies and emotionally. This
was a good time to think about life and try to see things from another perspective.
I also want to learn more things in my life. If I stayed in the same place, maybe I would not
improve or grow as a person.
4. Cultural awareness and expression competence
Going to the program was a good experience. You can learn many things. Culture is another
important thing. You can learn how people live in their countries, what their food is like, and
what their religions are.
For me, having conversations about religion was interesting and funny. I think religion is an
essential part of some people’s lives, so understanding and respecting it was important.
I also liked that people were open-minded and willing to talk and share what they think about
it.
