Hello! Our project Wild Vibes is coming to its end. Since February 2025, we hosted 13 young people in Mrachenik, rural village in the Sredna Gora region. All working together to renovate an old school into a volunteering and training center while connecting with rural life and locals.
This year, we opened our new project, Bright Lands. We are now opened to application for this project, co-funded by the EU.
If you like what you see, you can apply HERE.
You can get to know the project better HERE.
We will cover weekly progress through the so-called “Weekly Recaps”. Here we will give a brief overview of what is happening in this little village called Mrachenik and report on our experiences.
Heeeelllllloooooo
Everyone, Gaspard is back! I’m taking over the reins of the weekly recap for the month of November. I hope you’re happy to see me back. Anyway, we don’t have time for that, so let’s get started.
Last week was busy, and to kick things off right, we did our usual Monday schedule: weekly recap, reels, article, meeting with Vic or Leo. A team-building activity organized by Leo to simulate when we’ll have to go into schools to do activities, see what’s not working, and what we need to change. It was cool, but I didn’t really feel like it created a team spirit or anything. But I understand he wanted to try it out. Then on Tuesday, we started cleaning Jerome’s garden of lots of branches, dead grass, and living grass. I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much time using a rake all day long—seven hours of raking! I hope you don’t have to experience that every day.
Wednesday is Helping Hands, definitely one of my favorite days of the week. This week we went to one of the streets above the office and cut brambles and branches to make it easier for people and cars to pass. And since we were super efficient (it’s not humor, we were really efficient!) We moved on to cleaning another road that had already been cleaned by the previous volunteers and one of the women from the village. We finished removing all the dirt from the road, and then at the very end, a man asked us for help moving a washing machine. We then spent some time with him having coffee.
On Wednesday, we also tried to burn all the leaf and branches at Jerome’s house, but the mayor asked us to stop. It was also Bauhaus and Eurodesk week, so a little promotion. I also did a dissemination for Reviewlatvia.
On Thursday, we filmed a Reel, which is really cool. If you haven’t seen it, watch it and follow us on Instagram.
Friday was dedicated to preparing for our Halloween event: decorations, role-playing, just fun stuff. And on Saturday, we had the event, but you’ll have a more detailed post about it.
Anyway, I think that’s all for this week. Kisses, see you next week.
