One of our dedicated volunteers – Eli, has recently came back in Bulgaria after being part of an European Solidarity Project in Latvia.
Let’s hear their thoughts on their personal experience:
“Volunteering for 1 year in Active Rainbow I convinced myself that there is always something new to learn. During that experience I learned how to crochet and make a scarf and a hat to warm my body when being cold, I learned that I’m capable of loving and to take care of my mental health when needed.”
“В продължение на една година бях доброволец в Active Rainbow и се убедих, че винаги има какво ново да науча. По време на този опит се научих да плета на една кука и си направих шал и шапка, за да стопля тялото си, когато ми е студено, научих, че съм способна да обичам и да се грижа за психичното си здраве, когато е необходимо.”
“I started trusting myself more and this led me to also trusting others and situations in life more easily. I learned things about myself that were always there but I never took the time to acknowledge it.”
“Започнах да се доверявам повече на себе си и това ме накара да се доверявам по-лесно на другите хора и на ситуациите в живота. Научих неща за себе си, които винаги са били присъщи за мен, но никога не съм отделяла време да ги призная.”
“I understood the importance of doing things that make me happy, even if it’s something that scares me, especially if it scares me! The whole process taught me to be always curious and that each day has it’s own magical moment. I allowed myself to do mistakes and be accountable about it. Also, It’s never too late to begin again!”
“Разбрах колко е важно да правя нещата, които ме правят щастлива, дори и да е нещо, което ме плаши, особено ако е нещо, което ме плаши! Целият процес ме научи да бъда винаги любопитна и че всеки ден има свой собствен вълшебен момент. Позволих си да правя грешки и да нося отговорност за това. Също така, никога не е твърде късно да започнеш отново!”
