Rural Future – Nature, Community, Education | Weekly Recap 27

Hello!

In this past year we have had two volunteers that have lived in a remote village working to rebuild a school and learn more about and connect with the rural life and people. The project, called Rural Future, is co-funded by the EU through the ESC programme.

🛠️ If you like what you see, you can apply here.

ℹ️ You can get to know the project better here.

During the Rural Future Project, we are going to cover the weekly progress through the so-called “Weekly Recaps”. Here we will give a short overview of what is going on in this little village called Mrachenik and will report on our experiences.

Our Mrachenik volunteer team is made up of two people: Léo and Andrey . They all have different backgrounds and their ages span from 18-22 years.

Hello yall!

Another week has passed here in Mrachenik, so let me tell you how it went! We are already reaching negative degrees this week and today we saw the first frost on the plants, which means we have to keep the fire burning!

Christmas season is coming and we already started preparing the decorations as well as the beautiful tree you can see in the top photo.

This week we were still focused on project writting, but it won’t take much longer since we are already finishing the projects and adding our final touches to it. We also continued helping a local house by internaly cleaning and coating the walls with primer so we can later on paint them!
Victoria also started doing these very creative Christmas cards with cardboard and paint, these will be distributed to the grandmas and grandpas of the village when the time comes!

On the weekend we had the incredible oportunity of visiting the buzludzha monument, which was definitely one of the highlights of the week! The beautiful view and the moments we spent together will for sure be a part of our memory forever!

This is all we did this week. We will keep yall updated for the next weeks and wish you all a very good week!

Love the Mrachenik team <3
