The “I am Nature” Youth Exchange will be hosted by an intentional community located in the outskirts of the medieval village of Poussan in the Herault department, in Southern France.
Catfarm community is the location of our projects. It is a welcoming off-grid international community of creatives and nomads with the energy to explore an alternative lifestyle closer to nature and demonstrate self- sufficient living while finding ways to ethically work together. In the past three years, we have entered a highway to an intentional community and have walked into obstacles that have asked us for a creative solution within the boundaries of the place. We rethink, recycle, repurpose, restore, repair, reuse, and regift until we arrive at a solution and then start all over again.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE:
– The age for participating is between 18 – 30
– An open mind to an alternative lifestyle at the Catfarm eco-community;
– Willingness to open up and share their vulnerability with others;
– Prioritization to participants with fewer opportunities;
– Motivation to participate in all stages of the project, from the beginning till the end;
– Motivation to deepen their values of sustainability, cooperation, creativity, active citizenship, solidarity, and community life;
– Able to understand and communicate in English;
– being a resident of one of our partner counties : Spain, Romania, Italy, Bulgaria, France and the Netherlands
IMPORTANT
Obligatory pre-departure meeting: to be announced and sent upon confirmation.
Come in person to learn about Smokinya, Erasmus+, this project, reimbursement and ask your questions.
Participation is obligatory, an option is to join via Skype / Hangouts apps.

This is learning program funded by Erasmus+ programme.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.

COST AND FEES
This project is funded by Erasmus+ programme: accommodation, food, materials, the programme and the travel costs up to the maximum allowed amount are fully covered. No fees.
Maximum travel reimbursement for Bulgarians: number EUR per person.
Participation donation: number EUR given in cash upon arrival at registration in place. This amount is an investment in your learning and supports the hosting organization’s local activities.
Smokinya Foundation operates thanks to hundreds of volunteering hours per month and donations.
We ask a contribution of 20 EUR /40 leva/ from all confirmed applicants.
Your donation covers some of our administrative and organisational expenses and supports Smokinya Foundation’s dream to establish youth-run international volunteering and training centre. In case the suggested donation amount is excessive for you, fill in the application form and contact us.
