“LEAD ON” – TRAINING COURSE
Duration: 8 days.
Date: 27 October – 5 November.
Place: Kolymbari, Crete (Greece).
Participating countries: Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic and Greece.

Summary
How do I become more confident in a leader role? What are my strengths I can build upon? How can I be more accountable for the impact I have in my life? Where do I find inspiration for myself and how can I become inspiring for others? If you have questions such as these ones flying around your mind, this opportunity is definitely for you.
According to the Erasmus+ Programme, Youthtopia, a non formal youth group settled in Heraklion (Greece) will host a intense training course focused on those who already are or will be in the position of youth leaders and are seeking a way to empower themselves in this role.
Thus, following the Synergy training method, the experience consists of a series of intense personal development which are highly non-formal but experiential, making the participants deal with topics and concepts of automatic behaviours, patterns, inclusion, cooperation, communication, authenticity, integrity and accountability among many other aspects.
If you have what it is required fill in the registration form and live a unique personal and professional life experience. You will also receive an official Youth Pass Certificate at the end of the project which will recognise not only your participation in the programme, but also all the skills and competences that you have acquired. What are you waiting for?
We are looking for you if:
- You are 18+ years old (there is no age limit).
- You have Bulgarian citizenship or you are legally residing in Bulgaria.
- You are a Youth worker (young activist, peer educator, volunteer, mentor, coach, trainer) NGO staff (NGO manager or colleage leader, office staff) or representative of formal education.
- You have a strong interest in the topic of the project.
- Desiring to improve their personal and professional competencies.
- You are willing to spend between 10-15 hours per day of the programme.
- You are highly motivated to actively participate in the activities during the whole duration of the training.
- You are able to work in English in a multicultural and international environment.
- Besides, if you have already participated on a Synergy training and you would like to join this experience as a team member, do not hesitate and contact the organizers by email.
The Training Course gives you the chance to:
- Experience a unique training approach with more than 20 years of history focused on intense emotionally working sessions where you will have to face your behavioral patterns, observing yourself and your reactions in different situations.
- Acquire a tool to empower yourself in leading, being initiative and having courage to make things happen, bring changes and create an impact in your organizations, teams and communities.
- Develop your personal, interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- Learn new techniques and methods based on the topics of the project thanks to training plans like experiential learning, simulated situations, coaching and open sharing, outdoor activities, theoretical inputs and peer education.
Accommodation
- The accommodation for the Training Course will be located at the Orthodox Academy of Crete, outside the village of Kolymbari, situated 20 km from Chania.
- Living is provided in bedrooms with capacity for 2 people, with a private shower and toilet in every room. There is also free Wifi connection, and all the participants must tak part in light housework tasks as part of the learning process.
- There will have 3 meals per day prepared by the venue which will be adapted to the diet of the participants, besides small coffe breaks available during the rest of the day. All these accomodation costs are fully are covered by the project.
- The organization demands a non alcohol and drugs policy during the whole duration of the project with the intention to allow space for authentic connection with yourself and the others around you.
Travel costs reimbursement
- According to the rules of Erasmus+ Program, Youthtopia will reimburse the travel costs of the participants.
- The reimbursement of the travel costs requires to present the pertinent orginal tickets, receipts, invoices and boarding passes.
- Every reimbursement will be done in Euros regardless the currency indicated in the the documents provided.
- Travel costs reimbursment cover until 275 euros for participants from Bulgaria.
- Do not buy any transportation ticket without having received a confirmation letter/authorization in this regard.

Obligatory pre-departure meeting: – to be announced and sent upon confirmation.
Come in person to learn about Smokinya, Erasmus+, this project, reimbursement and ask your questions.
Participation is mandatory, an option is to join via Skype / Hangouts apps.

This is learning program funded by Erasmus+ programme.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.
Get to know all provided information in the info letter before you submit your application form.
Apply only when you know you want to participate and you have the dates of the training available.
Travel reimbursement is only sent to those who fully participate in all phases, including the follow-up and dissemination.
General applications are disregarded.
Smokinya Foundation operates thanks to hundreds of volunteering hours per month and donations.
We ask a contribution of 20 EUR /40 leva/ from all confirmed applicants.
Your donation covers some of our administrative and organisational expenses and supports Smokinya Foundation’s dream to establish youth-run international volunteering and training centre.
