1. 6th Citizen Participation and Deliberative Democracy Festival

The 6th edition of the Citizen Participation and Deliberative Democracy Festival brings together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, innovators and civil society representatives working on citizen engagement. This year’s edition takes the European Democracy Shield as its reference point, focusing on citizen participation topics that support the Commission’s policy on democratic engagement.
The programme covers impacts of citizen participation, citizenship education, youth engagement, the role of public spaces for democracy, digital democracy and civic tech, and the institutionalisation of participatory processes.

2. Built4People Stakeholders Forum: Building Europe’s resilient future

There is still time to register for “Building Europe’s Resilient Future”, the 5th Built4People Partnership Stakeholders Forum, jointly organised by the European Commission, CINEA, ECTP and ENCORD. The event will bring together policymakers, industry, research and innovation organisations and wider built-environment stakeholders to explore how Europe can strengthen the resilience, competitiveness and sustainability of its built environment.
The programme will focus on five strategic themes — resilience and security, circularity, industrialisation and scale-up, AI and robotics, and people-centred innovation — followed by a special session on the B4PIC network.
The Forum will take place alongside the Built4People Partnership Board meeting, offering a full day of dialogue and strategic discussion on the future of the Partnership. Learn more about it here!
3. EURegionsWeek 2026: NEB-related sessions confirmed

Two NEB-related side events are taking place at this year’s European Week of Regions and Cities.
NEB in action: complementary pathways to beautiful, sustainable and inclusive places (3 November, 10:30–12:00 CET, online) brings together four sister projects — SPICE, UTOPIZE, BIOARC and CIRCBUILT — to showcase how place-based, circular and participatory approaches contribute to the EU Green Deal and New European Bauhaus. The session marks the official launch of their collaborative cluster. Register here.
NEB Ocean Lab — Reimagining and Restoring European Society’s Relationship with the Ocean (14 October, 16:00–17:00 CET, Brussels) explores how regional and local authorities, cultural actors and coastal communities can shape ocean observation through the NEB approach, blending science, education and the arts.
