Context
Info Jeunes Grand Est – Reims is a youth information center that informs young people about a variety of topics like their studies, accommodation, jobs… but also about European and international mobility for young people. During his/her ESC experience, the volunteer will: – In collaboration with the ESC team, support young people that want to be part of the ESC programme (language support, preparation for departure, information about the program, …) – Participate and organize events to promote European mobility (“Time to move” event, “European ambassadors” information campaign, workshops…) – Occasionally participate in EU and European citizenship activities (Escape Game, information sessions, debate…) – Promote European and international mobility on our social networks (@ij.getmove – @ij.grandest)
Tasks of the volunteers
Facilitate activities of awareness about European Union Examples : present the Erasmus+ Program, the EU institutions, …
Help in the coordination of international projects, with Slovakia, Malta, … in relation with the international partners.
Organise workshops to help students to prepare their Erasmus+ departure.
And more… the volunteer is supposed to be proactive and to bring new ideas of projects for the students of the school. Example : create a theater group Help students to prepare their interview in english for an internship abroad.
Create flyers and posters for events happening in the school.
Take part and facilitate weekly workshops on sustainable development.
Cintribute to the English Dialogue in class.
Participant profile
The volunteer must be interested in youth information about international mobility projects. He/she should be interested in communication tools used by young people (social networks, video, photos,…). The volunteer should be interested in supporting other youngsters in their projects. The volunteer should also be interested in sharing EU values. Some basic level of French will be appreciated and will facilitate the integration of the volunteer (B1/B2).
Accomodation
The volunteer will live in a shared apartment fully furnished and will have his/her own bedroom. The bathroom, kitchen and living room will be shared. The volunteer will receive money for food, local transport and pocket money.
