Hello everyone!
My name is Alena, I’m 22 years old and I’m from Russia. I recently came to Plovdiv to be a part of the Smokinya Foundation team and I’m very excited to be here. This year I graduated from university with a diploma in journalism. I love reading, listening to (and sometimes playing) music and traveling. But most of all, I love the process of learning, especially exploring the culture and history of other countries. That’s why I have been dreaming about living abroad for a long time.
And the Smokinya Foundation gave me an excellent opportunity to make my dream come true. I was welcomed very warmly with great support, which made my move smooth. Now I can live in this wonderful city, talk to different people from different parts of the world, and improve my skills that I want to use when I grow up.
My life has definitely changed. I came from a rather cold city with 15 degrees in the middle of summer to hot Plovdiv, surrounded by mountains (which I actually admire here). And every time I wake up and look at them, I can’t believe it’s real. Also here I found an opportunity to use my knowledge in a good way. I didn’t expect it to happen so soon after graduation.
I hope that my participation in this project will be as productive as possible and that I’ll bring only benefits to this project.
