The testimonial of today is about one Bulgarian volunteer who go abroad for 10 months! Read a bit about her and about what she expect:
Hello! My name is Mira, I am 25 years old. Starting from the relatively small riverside town of Ruse, I am currently in the distant Ventspils – a Latvian town on the Baltic Sea coast. I will be there for 10 months on a long-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering project.
Before my departure, as you can imagine, I was filled with excitement, but also anxiety. I didn’t know what awaited me, and being away from home for such a long period is no laughing matter. With two suitcases and a lot of hope, I arrived in Ventspils in mid-February. From the organization where my volunteering takes place, Attistibas Fabrika, welcomed me warmly and helped me feel at home. My situation is still new and takes some getting used to, but I think everything will be fine.
Sometimes, in order to discover yourself and find meaning in life, you just have to close your eyes and jump out of the nest; hoping you’ll spread your wings and fly. I look forward to seeing what valuable lessons I will learn and what adventures I will have in the coming months.
