A participant’s words on Day 2

Heads off the pillows, trainers on feet and bodies in motion we started the day strong with a workout. A mix of cardio through running, bear crawls, some dance breaks and core training through push ups, crunches, squats and more. We got our hearts pumping and our bodies ready for the day ahead.

Our meeting time was earlier today so we had the opportunity to spend a few hours creating ways of entertaining and connecting without digital devices. Some chose to read, write, chat, take a walk, truly spending time mindfully.

In the session, we started with connecting to intuition. That gut feeling that tells you when something is right, wrong, comforting, or discomforting. Through body awareness and sensations we explored what it means to truly be present.

Examining our difficult situation is a habit of everyone. But how often do you find yourself drowning in the same narratives. Seeing the problem and doing nothing about it. The facilitators gave us a tool to look at the problem, recognize the behaviors, acknowledge the effect it takes on our lives and then think about what effect we want to happen and what behaviors will support us into fruition.

There are people in this world that express their thoughts, feelings, experiences through art. There are million ways to define and create art, all based on our individual selves and life experiences; A long roll of paper; some; pencils; crayons; paint, and even tape allowed the group to find their way of visualizing their desired effects: Another moment for those who engage well with this ,medium was drawing the system in which our problem exists. Simultaneously they were given a different way of communicating with our partner to explain what is going on the page. What…? When…? How…? These question intros acted as a guide in awareness of how we talk to each other.

To finish off our day we celebrated Tanyas birthday! A sweet treat of cakes accompanied by a heartfelt Happy Birthday song. Other than the team filming; not one phone was in sight: We lived completely in this special moment as one.

That is all for today. Check back in tomorrow to see what we are getting up to in RESET.

Day 3

As a new habit is built by repetition a workout has been proposed to start the day. A half an hour drill mixing cardio and core training, with warm up at the beginning and stretching at the end for safety.

Before lunch the participants went outside of the hotel for a wander. Wandering what? A threshold, from old behaviors and a current effect to new concrete behaviors and a realistic desired effect.

The first process of the afternoon is called the “3 roles”, the objective is to experience which role we play in life : the player, the coach or the commentator. Make the difference between the impact that we can have on the world or influence that we can have on ourselves and each others.

The following process was introducing “The 5R framework for reflection” in extent and corelations with the experiences and previous reflections.

Just before diner, the team proposed a process focused on body awareness, senses, curiosity, and respect of boundaries. Walking in the room, then pairing to give each others energy to move, followed by a session of “play fight” and finished by a guided meditation.

The day finished for some by an optional session using systemic work and constellations.
