Hello everyone! I’m Martina, from Ponferrada, Spain, I’m 23 years old, and after travelling in Tanzania and Spain, I’ve landed in Mrachenik. I just finished my bachelor in fine arts and cultural studies, and now I am taking the year off to travel around. My research and artistic practice has mostly focused on rurality, landscape, and memory. As I come from the “empty Spain” an example of rural decline in Europe, rural initiatives are close to my heart and I wanted to experience and participate in the inner workings of one.
Even though it’s the coldest weather I’ve ever experienced, I’ve had a very warm welcome so far to the project by the other volunteers.
