📍 Location: Hopeland Educational Eco-Community, Elpidohori, Greece
👥 Participants: 15 volunteers from fewer opportunities backgrounds, official EU residents

🌱 About GAiA Volunteering Teams

Join the GAiA Volunteering Teams in High-Priority Areas and become part of an eco-community in Greece! Over the past four years, this initiative has welcomed more than 250 volunteers to take part in sustainability projects, community building, and hands-on environmental work. Now, it’s your chance to be part of this meaningful experience!


🔥 Volunteer Activities

As a volunteer, you will:
✅ Engage in hands-on work to improve sustainability practices
✅ Contribute to the enhancement of the eco-community space
✅ Connect with the local community through meaningful exchanges
✅ Experience communal living and teamwork in a natural setting


👥 Participant Profile

✔️ Aged 18-30 years
✔️ Resident of an EU country
✔️ Interested in sustainability, eco-living and community work
✔️ Willing to adapt to different tasks and challenges
✔️ Open to teamwork and cultural exchange


💰 Practical Details

💶 Financial Compensation: 64€ for each volunteer who successfully completes the project
🍽️ Food: Provided
🏡 Accommodation: Shared living spaces in the eco-community
✈️ Travel: Reimbursement according to ESC guidelines
🩺 Insurance: Health insurance included

🗓 Applications are open now! The team is being formed on a rolling basis, so apply as soon as possible. Once selected, volunteers will be invited for a video call with the mentor to ensure a good match.

Obligatory pre-departure meeting: – to be announced and sent upon confirmation.
Come in person to learn about Smokinya, Erasmus+, this project, reimbursement and ask your questions.
Participation is obligatory, an option is to join via Skype / Hangouts apps.

This is learning program funded by Erasmus+ program.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.
Get to know all provided information in the info letter before you submit your application form.
Apply only when you know you want to participate and you have the dates of the training available.
