We’d like to share the experiences of Bulgarian participants who recently took part in the “In or Out” youth exchange, organised under the Erasmus+ programme. This 12-day journey in the Netherlands offered them a unique opportunity to grow, learn, and connect with others.
“In or Out” focused on learning through doing. Participants engaged in outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and rafting, which helped them discover their strengths, work together as a team, and overcome cultural differences. The project aimed to create a supportive environment where young people could explore their potential while still having fun and collaborating with others.
– They learned how to include themselves in a group, communicate effectively, and achieve common goals together.
– Experienced various challenges, especially a 72-hour outdoor experience, they discovered their abilities and how to apply them in real-life situations.
– Not only they made new friends from 9 different countries, but also gained a deeper understanding of other cultures.
– Everyone was invited to take active role in creating and organizing activities, allowing them to express their ideas and learn from one another.
“This project has been (mostly) an amazing experience. Without revealing the surprises that this project has in store (if you knew them you wouldn’t sign up) It has made me a much more mature, strong and confident individual.”
– Gabriel Sofroniev
“In or Out is an amazing opportunity that everyone needs to have. You meet new young people from very different countries and you have the chance to learn about their cultures and become friends. During the project you will experience many different and funny things which will help you in the future. You have the opportunity to challenge yourself a lot and get out of your comfort zone. While I was here I made one of the best memories in my life, I made really good friend and of course I learned a lot of things: how to work better in a team, adjust to different situations, how to cooperate and communicate.
The project includes a range of activities, such as educational workshops, outdoor activities, and discussions that encourage intercultural exchange and personal development. Participants often engage in team-building exercises and learn new skills that help them integrate better into educational and social environments.
I’m really happy I came here and did everything I could. Everyone who debates if they should come, come it’s worth it.!

““In or Out” was the most challenging youth exchange that I have participated in. I got the opportunity to facilitate a Playback theatre workshop which was the best moment for me. The 72h. challenge was great adventure filled with fun, new experiences and interesting situation. I would definitely recommend participating in one of the next editions of “In or Out”. At some point it was a bit too much for me, but I took the most out of it for sure. I met amazing people that I will keep in touch with. The volunteers of “Olde Vechte”, that were with us, were great as well! I’m glad that I learned how to deal with stressful situations such as sleeping with animals in a farm. From now on nothing can make me feel very uncomfortable, as long as I’m surrounded by kind people!
Thank you! Hope to participate in other projects organised by you!”
