“ESC Q.U.E.S.T” – TRAINING COURSE FOR MENTORS
Duration: 6 days.
Date: 22nd – 28th September.
Place: Madrid (Spain).
Participating countries: Serbia, Greece, Romania, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Poland, Italy, Spain.

Summary
Are you passionate about volunteering? Are you comfortable guiding others to solve problems? Do you believe that working in an international environment with young people is your future? Look no further because this opportunity has been created for you.
Thanks to our colleagues from Vega Youth Center, you can now train professionally as an ESC/Erasmus+ mentor for 6 days in the training course that will take place in Madrid, Spain. Take advantage of this unique experience in a unique environment where through a non-formal education method based on an experiential and cooperative learning system, you will learn everything you need to become a mentor through practical simulations, presentations and workshops, teamwork, debates and different readings.
And remember that at the end of this project, fully funded by the European Commission, you will also receive the Youthpass Certificate, an official European accreditation recognising the competences and skills you have acquired during your participation in the training course. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

We are looking for you if:
- You are 18+ years old (there is no age limit).
- You have Bulgarian citizenship or you are legally residing in Bulgaria.
- You are a youth worker/youth leader and you plan to involve as mentors of the volulnteers to support young people in the best way.
- You feel the need of developing your competences further, improving the quality of your mentoring activities and ensuring the quality of voluntary projects.
- You have a strong interest in the topic of the project.
- Desiring to improve their personal and professional competences.
- You are highly motivated to actively participate in the activities during the whole duration of the training.
- You are able to work in English in a multicultural and international environment.
The Training Course gives you the chance to:
- Understand the concept of Volunteering Opportunities and youth volunteering initiatives within European Solidarity Corps Programme.
- Raise awareness of the learning dimension in volunteering projects and provide tools for learning support for the mentors and volunteers.
- Strengthen the competences of coordinators and mentors (both professional and personal).
- Provide practical tools and best practices in the areas of volunteers management: volunteer recruitment and selection, creating volunteer job/ task description, mentoring and supporting volunteers, supervising (evaluating, addressing issues, motivating, etc.).
- Increase the quality of mentoring and to support mentors, (newcomers that are already involved in an ongoing project as well as experienced mentors) to further develop competencies that are needed as a mentor within in ESC and local activities.
- Create an inspirational learning space for exchange of experience and good practice.
- Develop your personal, interpersonal and intercultural skills.
Accommodation
- Accommodation for the Training Course will be located at the Albergue Juvenil San Fermin, 36 de los Fueros Avenue, 28041 (Madrid).
- Participants can easily get the venue travelling by metro or bus from the airport. Please, check out the infopack for more details.
- The organization demands a non alcohol and drugs policy during the whole duration of the project with the intention to allow space for authentic connection with yourself and the others around you.
Travel costs reimbursement
- According to the rules of Erasmus+ Program, Vega Youth Center will reimburse the travel costs of the participants.
- Meals and accomodation are fully provided by the host organization.
- The reimbursement of the travel costs requires to present the pertinent orginal tickets, receipts, invoices and boarding passes.
- Every reimbursement will be done in Euros regardless the currency indicated in the the documents provided.
- Travel costs reimbursment cover until 360 euros for participants from Bulgaria.
- Do not buy any transportation ticket without having received a confirmation letter/authorization from the organisers in this regard.

Obligatory pre-departure meeting: – to be announced and sent upon confirmation.
Come in person to learn about Smokinya, Erasmus+, this project, reimbursement and ask your questions.
Participation is mandatory, an option is to join via Skype / Hangouts apps.
Important! Read carefully the INFOPACK, it contains important details.
This is learning program funded by Erasmus+ programme.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.
Get to know all provided information in the info letter before you submit your application form.
Apply only when you know you want to participate and you have the dates of the training available.
Travel reimbursement is only sent to those who fully participate in all phases, including the follow-up and dissemination.
