Hello, my name is Carmen, I am a 24 years old and I am from Spain. I finished my Social Work degree last June and I felt quite lost – I have been living abroad, I also did some youth exchanges in other countries so I decided that in that specific point of my life it could be a good option to start a different way of learning in another country. I felt ready for a new adventure out of my comfort zone, and this was how it all started!
Then, I started looking for amazing opportunities in other cities, I spent a long time doing a good research and finally I found the Smokinya Foundation offer. I did my best to get a position as a volunteer and I finally got it! So now, I am here, I came few weeks ago, I am discovering this fantastic city and its awesome places, I am also meeting new international and Bulgarian people.
In this year, I would like to discover alternative ways of learning related to social issues, I would like to enrich my knowledge on how to help people. It also would be amazing to be in contact with other volunteers, workers and organisations who are working in the same field, they could be a good example to follow, we could cooperate and make fantastic activities together. Moreover, I would like to orientate my professional future, if I work with different collectives during this whole year I will find my real passion. Thank you Smokinya Foundation for offering me this great opportunity, I promise I will do my best!
