1. EUROPEAN COMISSION TRAINEESHIPS
The European Commission offers a highly sought-after traineeship program twice a year, providing a five-month training period for university graduates. This opportunity is perfect for those looking to begin their careers in European institutions.
Duration:
5 months (starting 1 March and 1 October each year)
Eligibility:
Open to EU citizens and a limited number of non-EU nationals who have:
– Completed a 3-year higher education degree (minimum EQF 6 level)
– No prior work experience exceeding 6 weeks in any EU institution or related body
– Excellent knowledge of two EU official languages (C1 or C2 in English, French, or German, and B2 in another language)
– Non-EU nationals require only one procedural language at C1 or C2 level.
Financial Support:
Trainees receive a monthly grant of approximately EUR 1,376.89, reimbursement of travel expenses, and accident and health insurance. Additional support is available for disabled trainees.

2. EUROPEAN COMISSION TRANSLATION TRAINEESHIP
This traineeship offers university graduates from the EU an excellent opportunity to gain professional in-house translation experience at the European Commission. The program is designed for those who wish to develop their translation skills and work within an international environment.
Duration:
5 months (starting 1 March and 1 October each year)
Eligibility:
Open to EU citizens and a limited number of non-EU nationals who have:
– Completed a 3-year higher education degree (minimum EQF 6 level)
– No prior work experience exceeding 6 weeks in any EU institution or related body
– Strong language skills, with the ability to translate into your mother tongue from two other EU official languages
– The main language must be one of the official EU languages
– 1st source language for translation must be English, French, or German
– 2nd source language can be any official EU language at B2 level or above.
Financial Support:
Trainees receive a grant of EUR 1,376.89 per month, reimbursement of travel expenses, and accident and health insurance. Additional support is available for disabled trainees.

3. EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK TRAINEESHIP
The ECB offers traineeship opportunities for students and recent graduates in fields such as economics, finance, statistics, business administration, law, human resources, and more. These positions provide hands-on experience, from research and data analysis to participation in studies and drafting reports.
Duration:
3 to 12 months
Eligibility:
Open to students, including PhD students, or recent graduates who:
– Are at least 18 years old
– Are fluent in English and another official EU language
– Are nationals of an EU Member State or an acceding country
– Have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree
– Have no more than 12 months of professional experience
– Have not been an ECB trainee before.
Financial Support:
Trainees receive a monthly grant ranging from EUR 1,170 to EUR 2,120, depending on their tasks and qualifications.
