ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
The centres are open to all age groups but the project focus is mainly on young people aged 10-18. Our mission is to provide leisure activities together with the visitors (arts,culture, music, sports, etc.), promote participation and non-formal learning in different ways. The centres are located in different areas of the city but they all have youth and community work in common.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteers will live in a shared flat where they have their own room. They will be provided with monthly pocket and food money and bus card.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
On-arrival training, mid-term training, and internal trainings (violence prevention, non-formal learning, etc.)
PARTICIPANT PROFILE:
For EU COUNTRIES. Volunteers that can (or are motivated to learn to) lead activities for and with children and young people, are outgoing and enjoy working with different people in a dynamic environment where there are many things going on. The suitable volunteers will have a genuine interest in working with people in a professional way, are sociable and want to be a positive role model for young people. We search for volunteers who enjoy working in a team of people from different backgrounds and have a keen interest in developing activities to stimulate non-formal learning.

Obligatory pre-departure meeting: to be announced and sent upon confirmation.
Come in person to learn about Smokinya, Erasmus+, this project, reimbursement and ask your questions.
Participation is obligatory, an option is to join via Skype / Hangouts apps.
This is learning program funded by Erasmus+ programme.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.

Apply only when you know you want to participate and you have the dates of the training available.

COST AND FEES
This project is funded by Erasmus+ programme: accommodation, food, materials, the programme and the travel costs up to the maximum allowed amount are fully covered. No fees.
Smokinya Foundation operates thanks to hundreds of volunteering hours per month and donations.
We ask a contribution of 20 EUR /40 leva/ from all confirmed applicants.
Your donation covers some of our administrative and organisational expenses and supports Smokinya Foundation’s dream to establish youth-run international volunteering and training centre. In case the suggested donation amount is excessive for you, fill in the application form and contact us.
