Hello!
For six months, four young volunteers will live in a remote village working to rebuild a school and learn more about and connect with the rural life and people. The project, called Rural Future, is co-funded by the EU through the ESC programme.
Here you can get to know the project better:

During the Rural Future Project, we are going to cover the weekly progress through the so-called “Weekly Recaps”. Here we will give a short overview of what is going on in this little village called Mrachenik and will report on our experiences.
Our Mrachenik volunteer team is made up of three people: Leó, Mirthe, and Carlos. We all have different backgrounds and our ages span from 21-27 years.
As part of Smokinya Foundation, we work with the Plovdiv Smokinya team as well.
You will see mixing and exchange between the two teams during our stay in Bulgaria.
What happened last week in Mrachenik !?
Carlos and Mirthe worked hard in the streets of Mrachenik ! They cleaned this square from grass.
They also cleaned the main stairs that link upper and down Mrachenik (also our house and the local shop 🥳). No more risk for the locals to trip in the stairs because of the grass. 💪
To finish well, Mirthe painted and hanged a brand new sign for the Smokinya educational center !
We are keeping this intention of helping around the village and make our working place greater. 😁
Stay tuned for next week!
