The aim of “CCC – Connecting Cultures Chuckling” is to increase intercultural competence through theater improv combined with the tool of laughter.
The project wants to overcome the idea of intercultural competence as a formal methodology, enriching it through the tool of laughter and stimulating the transition from “knowing how to do” to “knowing how to be”.
The main method is theatrical improvisation for discovering, understanding, and developing:
Trust in the relationship – Mutual listening – Integration of proposals – Expansion of creativity – Empathy – Self-efficacy and autonomy – Problem-solving – Flexibility – Observation and understanding of the context – Attention and focus- Stress management
Together, you will learn acting techniques, improvisation techniques and dramaturgy, to be applied in the youth work to achieve social inclusion and intercultural involvement.
Also, you will explore the tool of laughter through stand-up comedy and clownery.
This project is for you if:
you are 18+ years old
you are able to work in English
you are interested in experiencing improvisation and theatrical techniques
you define yourself as a youth worker, youth leader, social worker, trainer, facilitator, volunteer, educator
you are committed to applying what you have learned after the training in your city, team, organisation, friends, in the next few months.
IMPORTANT
Obligatory pre-departure meeting: date, time, place – to be announced and sent upon confirmation.
Come in person to learn about Smokinya, Erasmus+, this project, reimbursement and ask your questions.
Participation is obligatory, an option is to join via Skype / Hangouts apps.

That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.

COST AND FEES
This project is funded by Erasmus+ programme: accommodation, food, materials, the programme and the travel costs up to the maximum allowed amount are fully covered. No fees.
Maximum travel reimbursement for Bulgarians: 275 EUR per person.
Participation donation: 40 EUR given in cash upon arrival at registration in place. This amount is an investment in your learning and supports the hosting organization’s local activities.
Smokinya Foundation operates thanks to hundreds of volunteering hours per month and donations.
We ask a contribution of 20 EUR /40 leva/ from all confirmed applicants.
Your donation covers some of our administrative and organisational expenses and supports Smokinya Foundation’s dream to establish youth-run international volunteering and training centre. In case the suggested donation amount is excessive for you, fill in the application form and contact us.
