Are you ready for a 9-month-long adventure in marijampolė, Lithuania? Happy to work with children/youngsters and ready to meet new cultures? Open to gain experience and to find new friends?
The Society and Enterprise development institute looking for volunteers for two projects. As a volunteer, you will be working with a big group of children.
The Suvalkijos saulytės is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to unite families living in Marijampolė who raise children with Down syndrome or autism spectrum disorders. The day center organizes and conducts artistic-creative activities and sports activities. Various leisure activities, yoga, and music therapy are also available. These activities are managed by a social worker, occupational therapist, psychologist, and speech therapist.
Marijampolė Sūduva Gymnasium is a school of success for every child. It is a gymnasium that does not focus on a standard quality for all students, but rather sees each child individually and gives them the opportunity to choose their own path. It is a gymnasium that combines academic and practical education.
Volunteer profile:
- are 18 to 30 years old
- have not done European Voluntary Service / European Solidarity Corps before
- are not appearing in a criminal record (the relevant document should sent to us after the recruitment, not now)
- who are motivated and want to share their knowledge to try different areas in working in day care center;
- who are willing to organize different activities are able to make contact with children;
- who have completed their studies and are interested in internships with children;
- love working with children have some experience in voluntary work / know what is to be young
- are motivated to spend time in Lithuania,
- are creative and imaginative,
- have organizational skills,
- have a positive attitude,
- are open-minded and honest,
- like working in big groups,
IMPORTANT
Obligatory pre-departure meeting: date, time, place – to be announced and sent upon confirmation.
Come in person to learn about Smokinya, Erasmus+, this project, reimbursement and ask your questions.
Participation is obligatory, an option is to join via Skype / Hangouts apps.

This is learning program funded by European solidarity Corps programme.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.

COST AND FEES
This project is funded by European Solidarity Corps programme: accommodation, food, materials, the programme and the travel costs up to the maximum allowed amount are fully covered. No fees.
Maximum travel reimbursement for Bulgarians: 275 EUR per person.
