Hello! Welcome to the Wild Vibes recap. Since February 2025, we hosted 7 young people for 3 months and more in Mrachenik, rural village in the Sredna Gora region. All working together to renovate an old school into a volunteering and training center while connecting with rural life and locals.
We currently have two volunteer staying for 6-12 months and nine others staying for 3 months this summer!

We will cover weekly progress through the so-called “Weekly Recaps”. Here we will give a brief overview of what is happening in this little village called Mrachenik and report on our experiences.

Today was our volunteers’ first day of work in the village!
We woke up with the sunrise and after our morning coffe, we began by assigning tasks. One team was put in charge of gathering and cleaning pieces of wood from the school, which will later be used to build new structures. The other teams met some of the villagers, with the aim of helping them with their needs. They helped clean up trash and pull weeds from the streets and yards, gradually bringing out the beauty of the village of Mrachenik. One team even went for a tractor ride provided by one of the villagers. What an adventure! All the work was done with great joy, music and dancing, despite the scorching sun.
We mustn’t forget the social media team, which planned the entire setup to document and share this experience, through photos and videos that you can see in our social media accounts. The volunteers ended the morning feeling satisfied.
After six hours of work, we had a well-deserved lunch, which set us up for a quiet afternoon at school.
After lunch, the volunteers took advantage of their free time to recharge on the couches in our cozy room, chat, dance, and sing songs that echoed throughout the school. It was a slow, long afternoon, but an important one for resting up for the workdays ahead. As usual, we had dinner with a view of the most beautiful sunset and had fun conversations, trying to guess each other’s talents. Every day we’re getting to know each other better.
At the end of the day, we had our first bonfire! We sang songs to the sound of the guitar, chatted, and warmed our souls a bit before heading off to rest up for another day of work tomorrow.

This is learning program funded by Erasmus+ programme.
That requires commitment. You will be asked to organise a follow-up activity after the program.
The program is intensive and challenging.
The program does NOT include cultural and touristic sightseeing.
Get to know all provided information in the info letter before you submit your application form.
Apply only when you know you want to participate and you have the dates of the training available.
Travel reimbursement is only sent to those who fully participate in all phases, including the follow-up and dissemination.

This project is funded by ESC program: accommodation, food, materials, the program and the travel costs up to the maximum allowed amount are fully covered. No fees.
Smokinya Foundation operates thanks to hundreds of volunteering hours per month and donations.
Your donation covers some of our administrative and organisational expenses and supports Smokinya Foundation’s dream to establish youth-run international volunteering and training centre.
