Hello! Welcome to the Wild Vibes recap. Since February 2025, we hosted 7 young people for 3 months and more in Mrachenik, rural village in the Sredna Gora region. All working together to renovate an old school into a volunteering and training center while connecting with rural life and locals.
We currently have two volunteer staying for 6-12 months and nine others staying for 3 months this summer!

We will cover weekly progress through the so-called “Weekly Recaps”. Here we will give a brief overview of what is happening in this little village called Mrachenik and report on our experiences.
Hi everyone !
This week we did several activities, such as picking roses, making shelves, having our first Bulgarian
lesson and an amazing cooking lesson by Dario.
On the first day of the week, after learning how to use the tools, we had our first Bulgarian lessons with
Raya, our teacher🧑🏫. We learned the cyrilic alphabet and the basic words like Здравейте (Hello) or
Добро утро (Good Morning)so now we’re able to read and say basics manners. Then we went to sleep
early to prepare for waking up early on Tuesday.
Like I said we woke up early to go picking roses at 5.45 a.m., still a little bit sleepy, but we were received by a beautiful sunrise when we arrived at the roses garden🌹🌹. We harvested them for 2 hours and at 8 we happily went back with all our bags full of roses. After a well deserved breakfast. We cleaned the roses to get the bugs out of the petals and put them to dry on home made dehydrators. We also used some of the rose petals to make syrup. After working for 2 hours and seeing the bags never going empty we stopped.
When we finished this sidequest, we went onto the real mission of the week : making shelves for the
upcycling center !
Part of the team made the technical drawings so it will fit well.
Then we picked up reclaimed wood that we could use.
After sawing and sanding throughout the day, we had our first shelves made and ready to use !!!
On Friday, the last day before the weekend, we had this super cooking lesson made by masterchief
5 Stars Dario. During the lesson we learned how to cut onions, carrots and we learned how to toss food in
the pan :).
