Smokinya Foundation presents a long-term volunteering opportunity at Ataretaco Foundation in Tenerife.

Smokinya Foundation can be your sending / support organisation in preparing you for this long-term volunteering project, as well as providing on-going support during the project and when you come back. We hold accreditation and Quality Label to be hosting and support organisaton for young people who want to volunteer abroad. ATARETACO is a non-profit organisation with long history expressing its commitment to the dignity of the person and the sustainability of the environment. Its guiding principles are: coherence, co-responsibility, participation, justice, warmth and welcoming, professionalism, transparency and rigor, social solidarity and austerity in the use of resources.

Start of volunteering between: 1 September 2020 in the town of Taco, La Laguna in Tenerife, Spain
End of volunteering: 12 months after the start

What do you do?

support the staff of Ataretaco Foundation, specifically:

• Spanish classes for foreigners
• informative classes for people in situations of social exclusion
• basic English classes for people in situations of social exclusion
• participate in activities: intercultural, free time, personal care, etc …
• MUCH MORE! also depending on your personal ideas and wishes

Profile of participants
• 18+
• with great interest to learn and support a team of professionals from the field of non-formal education and social intervention
• with concerns to grow personally and open to new experiences
• Spanish language knowledge, preferably having a fluent level

During this year they will be full-time volunteers having a schedule of 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday.
Days off – volunteers get 23 days of vacation.

Within the first 5 days of the month, the volunteer will receive 620 Euros to cover the cost of food, accommodation, pocket money and transportation.
Travel expenses are reimbursed to come to Tenerife and return to their country once their volunteering is over.
Volunteers will receive support in the search for accommodation. We will send you links with information of flats / houses in areas near the Ataretaco Foundation.
